As with most stories my career path had its fair share of twists and turns including opportunities disguised as challenges. This empowered me to lean on my real-life experiences while seeking higher education, ultimately leading me to learn a valuable lesson.
My journey in the world of real estate began in early 2000’s. The economy was thriving and ripe for a young go-getter type full of ambition. I was quickly submerged into the finance industry learning in a sink-or-swim environment as a newly appointed loan officer. Fortunately, I was a quick study and swiftly adapted becoming a top producer at my office within the first year. Helping people purchase homes and consolidate debt via refinancing options was fulfilling while simultaneously increasing my financial literacy.
Eventually I elevated my position and went from working as a direct lender to getting my mortgage broker’s license allowing me to better serve my clients. I was on top of the world as a young professional and nothing could stop me, nothing except... the worst recession in modern human history.
When the housing crash hit, my life changed immensely. Files took six times longer to complete for a fraction of the compensation. Even then, I was lucky if a bank did not go out of business while under contract. When the market turned, I lost everything, including my own house. After a few months of drowning in paperwork, I decided to do something about it. That’s when I made the difficult decision to go back to school and enrolled into college.
I am results-driven, so I set out with a very specific goal in mind: to get my bachelor’s and master’s in accounting. It was not easy, and I am so thankful for the love and support of my parents through that time.
Going to school was about more than creating options, it was about challenging myself. Accounting is difficult, and the program was contrary to my personality as an extrovert. However, within five years, I earned multiple degrees and opened up an avenue into accounting. I achieved what I set out to do, but in the end, I realized accounting was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I needed to be out in the world working with others, actively involved in this growing community. So, after a few years in public and private accounting, I got my REALTOR® license.
Rather than return to mortgages, I stepped out from behind the desk to work directly with clients. As a results-oriented person, I like helping my clients with their goals in real estate, creating strong plans for success. Together, we accomplish what we set out to do and achieve our objectives.
My wife Lindsay, has always been supportive of my career and there was never any doubt in my mind that I could find success in Real Estate. With my education, I know more than I did all those years ago as a young man when the world changed overnight. Now I have the tools and strategies to handle whatever market we may encounter. And that’s the lesson I learned, that life gets complicated and will throw out unexpected obstacles, but with relentless determination, any one of us can accomplish whatever we put our minds to.
I have been a licensed REALTOR® since 2016 and enjoy using my comprehensive financial background to take my clients to the next level in their real estate journeys. I have also been a licensed real estate instructor in the state of Florida since 2018. As an instructor, I continue to sharpen my skills and knowledge of the industry while helping fellow agents learn how to become competent professionals.
Whenever I am not working, I enjoy traveling with my wife, scuba diving, hanging out with friends, and cooking new dishes. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is turning keys into contracts!
As a REALTOR®, it is exciting to help others with the most significant purchase in their lives. Real estate can often be more complicated than we may be accustomed to, so I enjoy simplifying the process for my clients. I will take the stress off your plate while you focus on yourself through this transition. As a native to the area, my connections run deep.
I have relationships with other REALTORS® and vendors built on decades of mutual trust. Due to my background in mortgages and accounting, I can run through the approval process in 60 seconds with my clients to give you an idea where to start.
With a master’s in accounting, I like to analyze the figures with my clients. You will always be prepared for what’s to come and understand your options. I am in this industry all day every day, constantly innovating my strategies and tools to keep my clients moving forward. I have extensive experience in residential, commercial, and investment real estate. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to support your success as your lifelong REALTOR®.
Sincerely,

Nick Bejelis
